 i'm still very new at this sooooo where do i find some communities to lurk within? where do i get started? not all my friends have DW (yet?) so my reading page is probably a bit barren at the moment. :(

I got linked to these two posts when I complained of something similar. You can also search for specific Interests under the Explore tab, although I've found that trawling through the Latest Things page is a good if time-consuming, way to get exposed to new people and different posts.

seconded, the search feature seems to be pretty good, especially since you can set it to specifically search for communities
